Farm Room
About This Classroom
The Farm Room is designed for children who are fully walking. This room is more structured, especially for the older children. We have snack time and lunch time together, as well as start to introduce group art and music. We still refer to the child's schedule when it comes to sleeping (especially when they are first moved into the class); however, by the time the child is ready to move up to the next class, we transition them to a group schedule and sleeping on a cot, rather than in a crib.
In order for a child to advance to the Forest Room, he/she must be able to meet the following milestones:
Sleep on a cot
Fall asleep without being rocked or held
Eat at a table rather than in a high chair; must also be able to stay put at the table without getting up or walking around
Respect the food of other children and not grab off of other plates
Drink from a sippy cup; bottles are not given to this age group and milk will not be warmed up
